The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide effective management of the Finance Digital team (CFO Functions) and South32 finance systems, processes and data landscape to effectively control the current state and to drive positive and meaningful change for the future ECC system state.
Deliver the Finance digital strategy across all CFO sub-function teams, including optimisation of critical processes.

Accountabilities

Individual Accountabilities

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
  • Governance over finance systems and integrated applications
  • Maintain the finance master data governance standards
  • Review, approve and prioritise Finance system changes with a perspective of quality, simplicity and supporting business case.
  • Manage implementation of Finance ERP change requests and minor projects from end to end. Analyse and provide functional input into each change.
  • Lead major digital projects end to end implementation on behalf of the CFO function.
  • Manage 1st line risk activities related to system automated controls.
  • Maintain finance organisational global job group design and manage 1st line risk related to Finance Access provisioning and SOD controls.
  • Develop new data/analytics concepts, applications and innovations (e.g. Cognitive, AI, RPA, IoT etc.) to manage, plan and execute activities.
  • Support finance half year and year end reporting requirements as required.


About You

  • Extensive computer literacy in SAP Finance Systems and integrated modules.
  • Extensive experience across end-to-end finance processes and reporting, particularly consolidation, budgeting & forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to Project Manage and lead a team through end-to-end implementation of Global Finance ERP projects.
  • Proven experience working with integrated ERP project teams from inception to delivery.
  • Ability to work autonomously to lead a team to deliver ERP changes to determine functional requirements, resource identification, testing approaches, develop testing scripts, coordinate testers, validate UAT output, identify and manage risks to business of system changes.
  • Experience with GCR Access control, SOD rule sets and mitigating controls.
  • Strong understanding of internal risk and control environments and assurance processes as they apply to ERP system change impacts.
  • Experience in the resource sector.
  • Demonstrates an ability to influence, communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the business
  • A demonstrable interest and passion for exploring new data/analytics concepts, applications and innovations (e.g., Cognitive, AI, RPA, IoT etc.)
  • Challenges the status quo and identifies opportunities to optimise the ERP landscape to enhance functional performance.
  • Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Information Systems or Commerce
  • Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
