The location of this role is the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona

The Role

The Field Maintenance Technician will conduct all preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on wastewater equipment and general site maintenance to include: treatment evaluation, pumps, valves, piping, electrical, mechanical, and any other equipment with contract scope at the site, while following all site Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental requirements and standards.

Accountabilities
  • Demonstrated exceptional commitment to safety and health; follow all site Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and standards
  • Comply with regulations and ensure all work is performed to industry standards
  • When requested, provide technical advice/support to other areas/departments
  • Prevent maintenance production targets from being adversely affected by interruptions to supply; ensure sufficient reserves are maintained and all necessary repairs are executed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
  • Complete all maintenance without any safety or environmental incidents, within scope, on schedule, on budget and meeting all standards and statutory requirements
  • Complete formal and daily reporting in a timely manner and maintain regular, informal communication with all stakeholders
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and issues, ensuring all maintenance activities are documented through work orders and filed accordingly
  • Foster a positive and effective working relationship within the Maintenance team as well as with other departments across the site. Maintain good working relationships with external suppliers and contractors
  • Perform fixed plant process maintenance and small mobile maintenance activities in accordance with the site schedule, to include both preventive and unscheduled maintenance
  • Perform maintenance of the water treatment plant, tailings storage facility, and other site infrastructure facilities
  • Verify onsite inventory levels of supplies, spare parts, and tools to ensure the team can perform required duties
  • Communicate with other departments as required to assure relevant information is provided to all parties
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Refer to parts manuals/books to make necessary repairs
  • Understand and comply with all Site Standard Operating Procedures and applicable safety and health requirements.
  • Adhere to the established Planned Maintenance (PM) schedule and any unscheduled maintenance
  • Complete construction tasks, troubleshooting, and other activities as directed by the Site Services Supervisor, such as installing signposts, fueling generators, and completing general maintenance work orders


Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences
  • Ability to drive company vehicle and be covered under company insurance
  • Must have the ability to work a rotating shift with no restrictions
  • Must be able to pass Background and Drug Screen
  • Understanding of water/wastewater treatment, process engineering, water quality assurance, maintenance strategy, and laboratory procedures
  • General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems required
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
  • Great communication skills required, must be able to speak, read and write clearly and effectively in English
  • Minimum four (4) years experience of technical fieldwork in an industrial setting
  • Experience in maintaining a fixed plant setting, including pump rebuilds and preventive maintenance, valves, piping, small motors, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of site maintenance, including carpentry, mechanics, and other trade skills.
  • Experience working within site services and/or water treatment plant preferred
