Reporting to the General Manager Mining Services, the Manager Engineering and Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the overall leadership, management and direction of the engineering and project management functions at Illawarra Metallurgical Coal. The role is pivotal in the development and implementation of key safety, strategic and commercial outcomes for IMC's future.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and guide the engineering superintendents and engineering technical leads to ensure all IMC engineering accountabilities are met.
- Single point accountability for IMC capital project studies, including governance of the operational capital portfolio via the project management office (PMO) function.
- Single point accountability for the progress of strategic asset management plan across all assets at IMC.
- Provide technical guidance to and oversight of the specialised engineering and automation experts ensuring they actively support the mining operations.
- Collaborate with the site maintenance managers and other operational leads to provide pragmatic solutions to maintain safe and reliable operations.
- Engineering advisor to the senior leadership team at IMC assisting with life of asset and other key strategic business planning.
- Ensure unified application of engineering, projects and asset management processes are practised across IMC in line with South32 standards
About you

- A tertiary engineering qualification
- Demonstrated practical knowledge in engineering and projects in heavy industry, preferably underground coal operations
- Very strong communication and consultative skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Strong influencing skills, capable of driving significant change
- Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability
