- The Reliability Engineer shall be responsible for continually improving the Asset Value Optimization processes within an Operation area / defined set of physical assets.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Serious contenders will have Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science and Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or C&I as well as a minimum of 5 years relevant maintenance or asset management experience of which at least 2 years as a Reliability Engineer.
- Experience in Reliability principles and calculations is essential;
- Experience in RCM/ACPD process (including FMEA) is essential;
- Understanding of Condition Monitoring techniques and application is essential;
- Asset performance calculations experience is essential;
- Failure analysis experience is essential;
- Ability to extract and analyze ERP information (using the BI tools)
- Six Sigma (Green or Black belt) will be advantageous.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review and improve total cost of ownership models in order to identify low reliability, high maintainability assets / components / tasks, initiate improvement projects where required.
- Review failure data, conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and system-wide analysis to enhance operations reliability.
- Review spare parts criticality analysis and kitting of store spare parts
- Responsible for the maintenance and updating of all asset care plans, corrective task lists and work instructions for existing assets and assets systems
- Review and evaluate preliminary design concepts, system engineering block diagrams and use RAM Analysis to provide total cost of ownership models for new projects.
- Responsible for the development of all asset care plans, corrective task lists and work instructions for assets and assets systems prior to commissioning.
