Material Controller - South32, Wessels Mine

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

• The role is for a capital Material Controller with warehouse experience in the project and construction environment who will work closely together with the Project Managers, Construction Managers and the appointed contractors, reporting to the Project Superintendent.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidate will be have Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science and N3 Technical Certificate experience in operations, warehouse, or project environment;
• Experience with SAP and MS Excel is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Facilitate the creation of reservations and requisitions in 1SAP and keep duly record of all purchase orders being created within the project cost tracking report;
• Conduct material planning for at least a 3 month forward looking period;
• Follow-up requisitions with supply and buyers to establish commitment dates for delivery;
• Receive, issue and dispatch of project related consumables and free-issue items to the appointed contractors;
• Weekly stock reconciliations of material stock on hand;
• Maintaining the project "Free-Issue" material data base;
• Organising and defining processes in all aspects relating to the capital yard and its operation.
