- The purpose of the role is to safely assist with charging up of drilled holes with explosives and accessories.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Serious contenders will have Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science/ Grade 10 (Internal candidates) with a of 1-year minimum relevant experience in a mining environment;
- Competency B certificate is advantageous;
- Valid driver's license is essential.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare Primers in the Primer bay;
- Handle explosives in the mining environment;
- Destroy old explosives in an underground workplace;
- De-water and de-sludge blast holes;
- Handle explosives in the mining environment;
- Charge shot holes with: primed explosives, bulk explosives, cartridge explosives and accessories;
- Barricade charged faces;
- Assist with blasting operations (Blast Guards, etc.);
- Pump water using Submersible De-watering Pumps.
