POSITION SYNOPSIS:

Provides specialist advice and executes transactional services for the areas of Cash Management activities as defined within the Global Business Services' Partnership Agreement with its Customers.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma (3 years) in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance, or a similar discipline with a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience Finance;
  • Specialist knowledge in Cash Accounting;
  • General knowledge of Reserve Bank requirements and Foreign Exchange Management;
  • Specialist knowledge in Global Business Services functions and processes;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards, legislative requirements, and regulations;
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant SAP Modules;
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues ;
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, along with the capacity to trouble shoot and formulate solutions;
  • Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word) would be essential;
  • Proficient at report writing, document preparation and presentation would be advantageous;


CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Cash Management activities ;
  • Foreign Exchange Management (SARB);
  • Bank Clearing including on time quality accounting reconciliations associated with the Cash function ;
  • Banking and liaison requirements in support of Group Treasury;
  • Liaison with South32 Group Supply and other Group Functions;
  • Treasury regulatory and legislative reporting requirements;
  • Cash and Treasury governance, including participation in Internal and External Audits, Stewardship Reviews and SARB and Central Bank Audits;
  • Active participation in ad-hoc Cash and Treasury Projects within GBS or the greater South32;
  • Provide advisory service and actively manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders by providing quality information in a timely manner;
  • Query management and resolution as outlined in the SLA eg, employee expense management;
  • Action scheduled work activities within the required Service Level Agreement;
  • Actively contribute towards achieving set performance targets and KPIs;
  • Assist with timely distribution of process work and redefining of priorities where required;
  • Develop supportive relationships with team members and demonstrate and promote operational discipline when executing day-to-day activities; be the first point of contact for ad hoc queries from team members;
  • Review of Customer Feedback received through the Net Promoter Score (NPS) to identify and implement improvements to reduce negative feedback and convert detractors into promoters;
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of local operating procedure documentation;
  • Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including South32 Code of Business Conduct, Group Level Frameworks, Standards, Policies, agreements, systems, and procedures;
  • Conduct training for team members, as well as peer review of processing activities;
  • Contribute to maintain a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement;
  • Identify risks and provide input into planning and actioning risk assessment.
