About the role
This is a permanent full-time position based at the West Cliff Coal Preparation Plant.
You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the tailing's facility, dams and ponds onsite across Appin Mine. This includes the Dry Rejects Emplacement Area (DREA) and Brennan's Creek Dam under the supervision of the Surface Services Superintendent.

This position will be at our West Cliff Coal Preparation Plant, Appin which is in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.

About the role
This is a permanent full-time position based at the West Cliff Coal Preparation Plant.
You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the tailing's facility, dams and ponds onsite across Appin Mine. This includes the Dry Rejects Emplacement Area (DREA) and Brennan's Creek Dam under the supervision of the Surface Services Superintendent.
Key accountabilities -
- Managing contractors and budgets for the safe construction and operation of the DREA, dams and water storage ponds
- Ensuring the structural integrity of the DREA and water storage bodies
- Communicating with the Engineer of Record (EoR) and other key stakeholders regarding design, construction and operation of the assets
- Monitoring and maintenance of the assets and routine communication of results & data to the EoR
- Supporting the management team with maintaining compliance to GISTM and Dam Safety Standard
- Civil projects onsite including roads and water storage pond rectification works
- Engineering guidance and support for civil assets across the site
About you

- Bachelor of Engineering - Civil, Geotechnical or similar
- Experience with design and compliance (desirable)
- Contractor management experience (desirable)
