Material Controller - South32, Wessels Mine

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

• The role is for a capital yard Material Controller with warehouse experience in the project and construction environment who will work closely together with Project Specialists, Construction Supervisors and the appointed contractors, reporting to the Projects Superintendent.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidates will have a Gr12 with Mathematics & Science / N3 Technical Certificate with 5 years experience in operations, warehouse or project environment.
• Experience with SAP and MS Excel is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Facilitate the creation of reservations and requisitions in 1SAP and keep duly record of all purchase orders being created within the project cost tracking report.
• Management of the Capital Yard;
• Ensure that the Capital Yard facility complies with the stacking and storage standard;
• Manage the compliance on safety, health and environmental regulations compliance of the Yard;
• Assist Project Specialists with acquisition of parts for projects and organise the deliveries accordingly;
• Ensure that the capital yard is properly packed and the store yard is well maintained;
• Ensure that equipment delivered to the Capital Yard is recorded accordingly and safely stored according to the OEM and South 32 standards;
• Conduct material planning for at least a 3 month forward looking period;
• Follow-up requisitions with supply and buyers to establish commitment dates for delivery;
• Receive, issue and dispatch of project related consumables and free-issue items to the appointed contractors;
• Communicate with the mine stores on material stock required by the project teams.
• Weekly stock reconciliations of material stock on hand;
• Maintaining the project "Free-Issue" material data base;
