Reliability Engineer - Based in Collie, South-West of WA - Permananet position

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Analysis & Improvement, the purpose of this role is to develop, deploy and continuously improve maintenance work management strategies to ensure the effectiveness of work strategies and work plans, and statutory and legislative requirements.

This role is offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

Our integrated Bauxite Mine, Alumina Refinery and Port Operation is creating the essential products needed for a sustainable low carbon future.

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour's drive of Collie.

Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities are to:
• Conduct maintenance performance gap analysis through equipment failure investigation, field audits and review of operational data, maintenance data and industry recommended practices.
• For identified maintenance performance deficiencies, develop and deploy improvement opportunities, including the associated business case for the change and incorporating stakeholder engagement.
• Calculate and capture business improvement associated with improved maintenance performance.
• Monitor activities associated with Safety Critical Equipment to ensure compliance to site processes and legislative requirements, including identifying and conducting the necessary equipment inspections.
• Provide input into the maintenance budgeting and re-forecasting processes.
• Facilitate risk reviews for mechanical maintenance activities.
• Encourage, mentor and coach peers and colleagues across operational areas in following the SAP process by promoting operating discipline.
• Provide technical support to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of equipment including the assessment and actioning of equipment condition monitoring information.
• Initiate and provide technical support into equipment modifications that support maintenance performance improvement ensuring compliance to site change control processes.

About You

Experience/Technical Skills:
• Self-reliant contributor
• Experience in reliability maintenance
• Experience in pressure vessel and/or tank inspections/repairs highly desirable
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, recommended practices and legislation desirable
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels including internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent computer skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
• Mining, minerals processing, power generation or other heavy industry exposure
• CMMS experience (SAP Work Management experience highly desirable)
• Ability to apply specific problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Undergraduate qualification in mechanical engineering (or similar)
• Pressure vessel and/or tank inspection qualifications highly desirable
