This role will offer a high level of management engagement, liaising directly with key stakeholders including site and functional management teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Mining Engineering with 10 years' experience within mining;
- Strong technical experience in underground (bord and pillar) or open pit hard rock mining, preferably manganese operations;
- Registration as a professional with an affiliated association as prescribed by JORC;
- High level competency of mine planning software and systems is essential.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Development of optimised Life of Operations mine plans to extract maximum value of the Hotazel manganese mining operations;
- Prepare a detailed medium-term plan and key enabling activities for the operation's physicals, development path and cost profile;
- Interacts with various stakeholders to ensure the quality, alignment and understanding of the mine plans;
- Develop JORC compliant Reserve statements for the Hotazel manganese mine including associated internal and external documentation;
- Carries the legal appointment as the Competent Person for the declaration of reserves for Hotazel manganese mines;
- Prepares Reserves risk reviews and facilitate peer review for good continuous improvement and risk management practices;
- Provides mine planning support to Concept Studies and Projects;
- Develops and follows planning standards and processes and supports functional excellence within Group Planning.
