The Role

We are looking for a High Voltage Electrician to join our HV Electrical Maintenance team on a Day Shift roster working 4 x 10-hour days per week. Reporting to the HV Electrical Supervisor, your role will be to safely maintain and repair our high voltage assets across various sections of the Refinery, Mine, and Port Facility. This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees will ideally live within an hour's drive of Collie.

Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities are:
  • Maintenance, testing, and repair of high voltage circuit breakers, contactors and switchgear
  • Testing high voltage cables.
  • Execute scheduled inspections, testing, servicing, and oil sampling of power transformers.
  • Participate in team safety and improvement initiatives.
  • Diagnose/repair HV and LV electrical assets safely and efficiently.
  • Utilise Work Instruction documents to complete scheduled work in a timely manner, and to a high-quality trade standard.
  • Isolation of HV & LV circuits for safe access to electrical apparatus including write and verify HV switching programs.
  • High Voltage protection relay programming, interrogation and testing/troubleshooting.
  • Primary and secondary injection testing.


About You

  • Electrical Trade certified & A grade electrical license.
  • High level of safety awareness and risk mitigation.
  • Current high voltage switching ticket.
  • Strong problem solving & electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Current WA 'C' class drivers' license
  • Well-developed computer literacy skills
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.


Desirable

  • High Risk Work License - Elevated Work Platform, Forklift
  • Experience with high voltage protection relay programming, interrogation and testing/troubleshooting.
