POSITION OVERVIEW:

The key objective of the role is to provide technical support and leadership to the Mill Operations group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring that all employees work safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards, and procedures
  • Budgeting and cost control for the Metallurgical Group and Assay Lab
  • Monitoring plant performance, identifying sources of variability and making recommendations for improvement
  • Managing investigations, test work and technical projects to maintain performance or to identify opportunities to exceed targets
  • Developing and maintaining quality control programs within the plant and onsite laboratories
  • Supervising and developing technical staff through coaching, training and performance review.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (or a closely related field)
  • 5-10 years of experience in mineral processing, preferably with copper & gold flotation
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office software
  • Strong communication, organizational and team building skills
  • Integrity, focus, and a good work ethic
  • Proven ability to analyze problems, prioritize issues, and develop timely and cost-effective solutions
