Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Project Manager's key objective is to manage and support all capital projects to the mill operations group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage safely all mill capital projects and small improvement projects related to construction to completion and turn-over
  • Provide input into engineering phases of the projects, collaborate with site engineers during designs
  • Collaborate with procurement team to create tender packages and other procurement documents as required
  • Coordinate with contractors on delivery of products and services, ensure safety standard and schedule adherence and quality completion of job tasks
  • Take on the role of Management of Change (MOC) coordinator and lead regular meetings
  • Mentor technical staff within the mill teams on project management skills and development
  • Provide input and guidance on project budgeting and costing


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10 years in industrial construction
  • Strong focus on safety, quality assurance and quality control
  • Experience in working with engineering groups and able to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working with procurement in assembling procurement packages
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising contractors during project execution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant codes and standards to abide by during projects
  • Class 5 driver's licence
  • Industrial experience and a demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office suite
  • Strong communication, organizational, and team building skills
  • Integrity, focus, and a good work ethic
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems, prioritize issues, and develop timely and cost-effective solutions


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
  • The team is of very energetic and dedicated professionals
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
  • Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
  • This is a camp-based position with a schedule of 14 days of work and 14 days of rest, 12 hours per day.
  • Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
