POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer - Short Range Planning, the Student - Mine Planning will work with the Mine Technical Services team to provide planning and engineering support focused on dam construction and mine waste management; and other project work as required to support the open pit mine and tailings storage facility construction.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Site surveying, lay-out of drill patterns and other design plans

• Provide support to mine operations team for construction of TSF, haul roads and pit development

• Assist with MineStar Fleet Management System tracking

• Soil testing and monitoring construction of tailings facility

• Provide inputs to 13 Week Plans, Quarterly Forecasts, and LOM plans

• Assist in the creation of weekly mine plans

• Work with geotechnical team to ensure dam is constructed according to specifications

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• Pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the operation

• Strong computer skills

• Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia. Mount Milligan is not a fly in/fly out camp

• The team is comprised of very energetic and dedicated professionals

• Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration

• Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region

• This is a camp-based position with a schedule of 14 days of work and 14 days of rest, 12 hours per day

• Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site

• The work term is June - December 2022
