Position Overview:
Reporting to the IT Supervisor, The IT Communications Technician performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, replacement and repair of Mount Milligan Communications Systems.

Reporting to the IT Supervisor, The IT Communications Technician performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, replacement and repair of Mount Milligan Communications Systems.
Responsibilities:
Manage, implement & maintain high-level IT and Communications systems, including-
- Data
- Applications
- Computing Hardware
- Network Infrastructure
- Telecommunications
- Radio Communications
- Support Equipment
- Mining specialization systems
- Work on protecting data against loss or harm
- Work on Cyber security of all IT & Comms systems
- Work on data protection and privacy
- Minimize the disruption of system and work on improving the availability
- Support all users in using the IT systems
- Research and promote new technology initiatives and opportunities
- Work with suppliers and partners to support systems
- Coordinate activities in various projects support and technical requests
- Share knowledge of IT and Mine Operation Systems through documentation and peer communication.
- Build the knowledge of new and changing IT & Comms systems
- Attend Training courses as may be required
- Work towards achieving and delivering goals and objectives
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work space
- Work with facilities and equipment in indoor, outdoor, and industrial environments
- Be available to work in other BC locations on IT and Comms services, if necessary
- Complete other relevant tasks, if necessary, under the guidance of the IT management
- Offer recommendations and observations for improving IT Services and systems
- Comply with the rules and regulations of the Mount Milligan and Centerra Gold
Qualifications:
- Combination of education and certifications
- Expertise in at least two industry specialties
- Highly comfortable in interacting with others, of varying personalities, in person, on the phone and through using remote tools
- Capable of providing extended hours when required to meet deadlines
- Able to prioritize and work effectively while being adaptable and open to constant priority changes
- Calm and collected disposition in complex high pressure business situations
- Work effectively independently and in a team environment with a positive attitude
- Focus on safety and continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Valid Driver's license
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
- The team is of very energetic and dedicated professionals
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
- Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
- Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
