POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Superintendent, Supply Chain, the position will be responsible for managing and directing the safety and operations of the Warehouse, including supervision of Warehouse employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Training of warehouse personnel.
• Schedule shifts and monitor warehouse employee hours.
• Accountable for the accurate physical receipt and issue of materials.
• Responsible to ensure physical inventory and financial controls for are in place and adhered to for cycle counts and overall materials management.
• Review and approve inventory transactions in the inventory management system.
• Prepare and manage warehouse operating budget.
• Lead the continuous improvement initiatives of the department.
• Ensure safe and efficient operations of the warehouse.
• Coordinate with Materials Management to resolve lost, damaged or miss shipped materials.
• Coordinate warranty work/repairs and core management with maintenance department.
• Assist with developing warehouse, assembly of shelving/racking and other related duties.
• Continuously monitor consumable inventory to recommend optimal levels and minimize working capital and maximize stakeholder work time.
• Ensure company assets are securely stored and accounted for.
• Ensure customer service needs are handled promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• A good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential.
• Self-starter and high-performance attitude.
• Professional parts Person designation, Business or Supply Chain related degree from a recognized institution.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Previous experience in warehouse management in an industrial setting, open pit mining preferred.
• Computer literate and proficiency.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
• Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
• The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on 7 days off, 12 hours days.
• Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
• Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
