Reporting to the IT Supervisor, the IT Specialist will primarily be responsible for providing desktop and network support for the end-users at Mount Milligan Mine site. The incumbent in this position will also gain hands on experience working with network and server management.
We are looking for dynamic, pro-active, analytical approached, enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated IT Specialist for our Mount Milligan project in BC.

We are looking for dynamic, pro-active, analytical approached, enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated IT Specialist for our Mount Milligan project in BC.
Responsibilities:
- Interact regularly and effectively with ticket submitters and provide on-site/ remote IT support
- Diagnose and resolve or escalate various and diverse computer hardware, software, and/or network problems in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Implementation and maintain all IT Systems to a high-quality standard including -

- Network Infrastructure

- Support Equipment
- Work to protect data against loss or damage
- Work to secure IT systems against unauthorized use
- Work to protect the security and confidentiality of data
- Minimize system outages and work to improve availability
- Share knowledge of IT Systems through documentation and peer communication.
- Document jobs, work and processes & improve documentation
- Follow documented processes, procedures, company policies & IT Code of Conduct
- Build and maintain and share knowledge of new & changing IT systems
- Attend training courses as may be required
- Offer recommendations and observations for improving IT Services
- Work to deliver IT Plans and Objectives
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized workplace
- Work with tools and equipment in Indoor, Outdoor and Industrial environments
- Be available to work at any BC location where shared IT services are required
- Complete other relevant tasks as required by direction of the IT department management
- Supporting all global and local technology projects
Qualifications:
- Combination of education and certifications
- Minimum 3 years of similar experience in multinational environment,
- Highly comfortable in interacting with others, of varying personalities, in person, on the phone and through using remote tools
- Capable of providing extended hours when required to meet deadlines
- Able to prioritize and work effectively while being adaptable and open to constant priority changes
- Calm and collected disposition in complex high pressure business situations
- Work effectively independently and in a team environment with a positive attitude
- Focus on safety and continuous improvement
- Microsoft certifications or related is considered an asset
- Cloud certifications are considered an asset
- Ability to frequently travel to remote mine sites and a valid Driver's license
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
- The team is of very energetic and dedicated professionals
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
- Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
- Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
