GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUMMARY

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner acts as a member of, and trusted advisor and coach to, the site senior leadership team and site employees. This role identifies stated and underlying needs and develops talent strategies and solutions for the business/operating unit in collaboration with Corporate Head Office in Toronto. This role also collaborates closely with other Human Resources functional groups (i.e., compensation, recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, etc.) to develop and implement integrated talent solutions, advocating for the needs of operations in enterprise-wide HR program development and implementation.

  • This position reports to the Director, Talent Management

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partners with senior site leaders to build and execute on strategic talent plans, aligned to Centerra's global organizational strategy.
  • Incorporates a People First approach into all HR activities to create and retain an engaged workforce.
  • Aligns organizational workforce plans with Talent Acquisition and Talent Management planning processes.
  • Assesses the talent needs of the operations through internal evaluations and external environmental scans to identify current and anticipated talent related issues. Uses data and insights to inform business cases for changes to talent strategies or practices and presents those recommendations to Site Management and Corporate HR for review and alignment.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor and coach to the site leadership team. Builds deep client understanding and relationships with all leaders and employees.
  • Represents and advocates for operational needs in enterprise-wide HR program development and implementation.
  • Facilitates talent-related change management activities. Evaluates the impact of proposed changes on employees; advises the departments on alternatives and change mitigation.
  • Partners with site leaders to review organizational structure, job roles, and talent management processes and recommends any changes through Corporate HR.
  • Facilitates annual goal setting, annual talent reviews, performance cycles, annual compensation review, learning & development initiatives, succession, and individual development planning, ensuring follow-up programs are delivered.
  • Executes and facilitates the roll out and implementation of all local and enterprise-wide programs such as DE&I programs, SAP Success Factors implementation, etc....

  • Identifies opportunities to increase efficiencies with stakeholders and better meet their needs.
  • Recommends new initiatives to eliminate gaps between the organization's current HR initiatives and stakeholder and business needs in collaboration with Corporate HR.
  • Coach others in effective decision-making practices.
  • Identifies and leverages relevant data when making decisions, providing recommendations, or analyzing organizational issues.
  • Interprets metrics and data visualizations (using understanding of basic statistics) to identify patterns and extract insight where possible.
  • Makes recommendations and decisions that support organizational goals and drive people capabilities.
  • Proven leadership, strong communication and team building skills
  • Effective organisation and time management skills
  • Proficiency with HR information systems and the Microsoft Office Suite specifically SAP Success Factors.


EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or related field required.
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, or Organizational Development or related field, would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 8 years of senior-level HR experience required.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRL, SHRP, PHR, SPHR), would be an asset


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
  • The rotations is to be determined as per operational requirements. Either 4 x 3 10 hours per day or 7 x 7 12 hours per day.
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
  • Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
