Reporting to the Mill Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for various maintenance activities common to a surface hard rock mining and milling operation and the associated crushing, grinding, flotation, conveyor systems and support equipment.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lubrication of all types of rotating equipment on site.
- Use of oil filtration systems as a part of condition monitoring program.
- Inspects and maintains oil levels in all machinery to meet Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
- Conduct oil sampling and review sampling results in FluidLife.
- Visually inspects machinery for defects and wear, generates work orders and requisitions.
- Has the ability to learn how to use computers, participates in on-going training as a requirement of the position.
- Duties assigned to this position may be varied from time to time where required for effective maintenance of operation
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- 3 or more years of experience in an industrial setting or similar environment (preferably mining)
- Mechanically inclined
- Trades ticket in a mechanical related program (i.e. Automotive Mechanic, Truck & Transport Mechanic, Marine Technician, etc.) will be considered an asset
- Using ultrasound for greasing
- Attention and compliance to established safety rules and guidelines is paramount
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Collaborative work style - willing to participate in solving problems
- Positive outlook with good interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with computers
- Willingness to continue learning
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds is required
- Strong interest and experience in heavy equipment maintenance
- Demonstrated leadership in safety
WORK SCHEDULE:
- This is a camp based position, and will be a rotating day and night, 7 days on with 7 rest, 12-hour shifts
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
- The team is of very energetic and dedicated professionals
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
- Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
