The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Process Superintendent, Integrated Opearations to join our Creighton Mine Operations.

The purpose of this role is to continuously improve the work team performance through effective use of established processes as defined at the mine. As an Integrated Operations Superintendent you will be accountable for conflict resolution and escalation of decisions in the week of execution, applying work breakdown detail to the primary mining activities, approving changes to the shift schedule and overseeing the updating of shift schedules by the Shift Scheduler.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us great!

  • The ideal candidate will have a College diploma in Mining or relevant experience.
  • Engineering degree in a related discipline would be an asset and/or equivalent mine operational experience.

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in mine scheduling or mine operations discipline, including some experience using scheduling software and SAP.

Shift Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 8 hours dayshift

  • Understands value drivers for the mine
  • Accountable for producing 0-1 week committed execution plan within a rolling 1month integrated plant schedule
  • Monitor execution compliance and identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve front line work execution efficiency and delivery of the annual plan
  • Executes the Integrated Operations Scheduling systems and processes.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of the process and leads a culture of continuous improvement within their area of accountability
  • Monitor effectiveness of Integrated Operations Scheduling systems and processes and recommend improvements to the Mine Manager / Superintendents
  • Lead the Integrated Shift Scheduler, provide performance feedback, coach and counsel direct reports on the standards of behavior, and take corrective action as required
  • Leads conflict resolution within the week of execution raising unresolved escalations to the mine manager
  • Own the feedback loop to Integrated Planning Superintendent to update area planning systems based on actual week 0 execution progress
  • Integrate input(s) from Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Logistics into the planning schedule to meet the mine commitments
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues
  • Exhibit effective Team Leadership and Team Membership behaviors
  • Identify and resolve key scheduling conflicts which may prevent the successful delivery of the mining plan.
