Talent Management Coordinator

The Opportunity:

The Talent Coordinator implements leadership training systems and practices which are aligned with the Learning and Development (L&D) strategy for Base Metals. Under the direction of the Senior Talent Management Specialist, the Talent Management Coordinator is responsible for supporting all the administration and coordination required for Talent Management initiatives, L & D programs, as well as the annual Career & Succession process.

This position is based in Toronto; relocation assistance is not available.

  • Support the Senior Talent Management Specialist with implementation of and standardized training for development processes and programs designed for managers and above across Base Metals.
  • Updates and maintains regional L&D policies.
  • Support the development and implementation of activities for leadership related to the Talent Champion Program Calendar .
  • Creates and distributes Certificates of Completion for participants of the various Talent Champion Programs.
  • Coordinates all training events related to the Talent Champion Program, e.g. scheduling, program communication, and catering.
  • Reviews development themes emerging from annual C & S process to identify pro-active training needs and solutions for leadership.
  • Regularly tracks progress of C & S activities against established global timelines. Ensures support materials in CSP are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Support the administration of L&D related technology and systems such as VES, CSP, Sharepoint, Intranet etc. including technical issues and escalations.
  • Tracks key metrics and analytics to allow for measurement of ROI of the programs, tools and processes developed.
  • Maintains an up-to-date list of employees receiving coaching, attending training and utilizing educational assistance.
  • Adapts global communications material to meet the needs of local cultures within Base metals (e.g. HR Minutes, FAQ documents, bulletins etc.).
  • Coordinates the annual L & D needs assessment process across Base Metals sites.
  • Acts as a liaison between Vendor and Procurement with respect to contract management and invoice payment.

  • Post-secondary degree with specialization in HR is preferred.

  • 1-2 years of related experience in a multi-location corporation in a similar position.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated work experience in program management, training coordination, analytics or events planning.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior managers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven, intermediate skills / practical experience working with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Flexibility in accommodating regional time differences with key stakeholders is a requirement of this role.
