The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Totten Mine, Ontario Operations Department in Sudbury, Ontario. These are permanent positions.

The job holders will continuously improve the work team performance through effective use of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives. Improve the effectiveness of the front-line team while meeting the business objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy. These positions are located at our mines within the Sudbury basin.

As a Supervisor, some key accountabilities are:
    \t
  • Hold crew accountable for area Safety behavior, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism.
  • \t
  • Supervise and coordinate the “work” components of the Asset Management Framework.
  • \t
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with completion codes and comments for future analysis.
  • \t
  • Carryout tasks while on shift on behalf of the Superintendent and as such assists the Superintendent in achieving the overall area targets for his/her area of accountability.
  • \t
  • Work within budget, guidelines and standards and execute Safety and Plans as established by the Superintendent.
  • \t
  • Work with the crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
  • \t
  • Work collaterally and cross functionally, with colleagues, engineering, production, and services to achieve the objectives of the Department.


About You

Education:
    \t
  • Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is preferred.
  • \t
  • Common Core: First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core (770121) or Common Core for First Line
  • \t
  • Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining (770120) is required.

Experience:
    \t
  • 3 Years of leadership experience

Skills:
    \t
  • Strong ability to communicate in English (oral & written)
  • \t
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking ability
  • \t
  • Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness and poise in high-stress environment
  • \t
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team
  • \t
  • Understands mining practices/operations, procedures & regulations
  • \t
  • Underground experience or familiarity considered an asset
