The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Sr Analyst, Project Excellence to join our North Atlantic Project Group (NAPG) in Sudbury. This is a permanent position.

The Senior Analyst will implement and consolidate Vale Production System (VPS) in the Matrix Organization of the NAPG through continuous guidance, training, assessments, and process consulting to obtain Operational Excellence. Additionally, in this position you will…

  • Provide technical support to clients, to ensure the implementation and consolidation of the management model to achieve Operational Excellence (Basic Problem Solving – 5S, 5 Why, Deviation; Action plans; and Implement Routine Management – Daily meetings, critical metrics breakdown, Deviation Analysis, etc)
  • \t
  • Support existing demands (VPS Initiatives, etc)
  • \t
  • Develop project/area personnel to implement VPS in order to enhance processes’ efficiency
  • \t
  • Supports the definition and implementation of the performance management and reporting processes to meet the NAPG requirements for Health, Safety, Environment, Risk and VPS
  • \t
  • Run and facilitate collaboration with the Operational Excellence Corporate and 2nd Layer of Defense teams in order to guarantee the alignment, integration and best application of the VPS routines.
  • \t
  • Coordinate the VPS self-assessments and audits across the Project Group Areas;
  • \t
  • See the results of the operational areas, through performance indicators, in order to identify gaps in the management of their processes.
  • \t
  • Participate in the assessments of the management model – at site sophisticated/location/ level.
  • \t
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide solutions to clients in an effort to achieve sustainable results; Capture new demands – focused on the activity inside the plants/mines level.
  • \t
  • Recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client. Facilitate sprint road mapping, planning sessions and retrospectives. Support the triage and resolution of critical impediments.
  • \t
  • Train end-users in the basics of the management model such as Housekeeping and Problem Solving and its tools;
  • \t
  • Train end-users in the advanced techniques of the management model such as TWI, Material and Information Flow, Kanbans, etc and its tools;
  • \t
  • Collect and share standard methodologies in the company, updating the management model when applicable.
  • \t
  • Capture and consolidate the financial and potential gains of operational improvement initiatives, following the defined methodology and flow of validation.

  • Maintain the improvements and to act as Normative of the Systems that support the management model.


About You

Education:
    \t
  • Undergraduate degree is required

Experience:
    \t
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar subject area
