Electrician

GENERAL Description:
Installation and maintenance of all electrical equipment at the mine and related facilities. Equipment includes wiring, switchgears, electric motors and related controls.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Electrician must demonstrate working knowledge of electrical principles, test equipment and electrical theory.
• Follow and demonstrate knowledge of procedures outlined by the National Electric Code and the Code of Federal Regulations.
• Electrician must demonstrate ability to read and work from electrical schematics, 1-line drawings and other electrical prints.
• Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot potential problems in electric motors, generators, switchgear and control circuits.
• Demonstrate knowledge of wiring methods and strives for quality workmanship at all times.
• Electrician will demonstrate the proper use of tools required to perform job related tasks.
• Perform MSHA inspections as required.
• Document work performed on all machines in the proper record books.
• Use proper procedures when removing materials from the warehouse.
• Demonstrate the ability to upgrade electrical drawings as required.
• Comply with all company, State and Federal safety regulations.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards to immediate supervisor

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Formal training from a recognized electrical program.
• Electrician must have ability to become MSHA certified.
• Previous mining experience is a plus.
• Any combination of experience or education to meet the job requirements.
