Position Summary

The Ops/Production Supervisor II is responsible for supervising the execution of production and logistic activities undertaken by front-line operational personnel in line with the schedule, standards and performance, cost and volume. Ensures quality business practices and standards are followed to achieve all set targets and organizational goals.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise all personnel assigned to them on shift.
  • Responsible for meeting production quality and cost targets for their shift, and variance reporting.
  • Coordinate and direct day-to-day work activities for the plants.
  • Ensure safe work behaviors, and correct safety and environmental deficiencies in a timely manner. Report and begin the investigation process for all safety and environmental incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Interface with plant maintenance staff to maximize plant run-time and effectively communicate maintenance needs.
  • Interface with mine operations supervisors to ensure an adequate supply of raw coal feed.
  • Complete all shift reports

Typical Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years of related work experience which includes production operations in the mining industry.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities

Licenses, Registration, and Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
