Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for the comprehensive loss control program involving all aspects of industrial safety, accident and claims investigation, negotiation, and physical security.Manage facility access control, associated budgets, and contracts related to these areas.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement methods of identifying hazards from a safety and security aspect. Evaluate the potential employee and economic impacts through a detailed analysis.
  • Instruct employees in proper safety and security procedures. Establish methods to demonstrate the relationship and importance of safety and security to overall operations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct job-specific safety orientation sessions for all employees.
  • Develop and present employee safety, security and loss control awareness programs to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Follow established business principles, practices, and financial controls to achieve fiscal responsibility.

Typical Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities

Licenses, Registration, and Certifications

  • Associate Safety & Health Manager (ASHM).
