Position Summary
Electrical Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and communicating the daily electrical work required to be completed by tradesmen engaged in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and installations.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position has formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Typical Physical Demands
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel.
Typical Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assign, supervise, and inspect electrical maintenance to ensure that it is done efficiently and in accordance with the applicable regulations and codes.
- Communicate with key personnel to plan, coordinate and assign maintenance tasks to the electrical tradesmen.
- Examine all electrical and mobile equipment regularly in order to identify preventive maintenance schedules, repairs or replacements.
- Utilize an established work order system to plan and organize daily workload and assign personnel to maximize both manpower and facilities and ensure highest possible availability of equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures and schedule repairs based on production priorities and available manpower.
- Participate in the development and rollout of electrical-related site cost cutting/site improvement initiatives.
- Communicate with equipment suppliers in order to recommend updating or replacement of electrical equipment as it becomes obsolete.
- Ensure onsite contract workers are properly trained and orientated before entering the mine site to perform their job duties.
- Promote teamwork at all levels of the operation through the communication of effective maintenance management systems and programs.
- Adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives.
- Perform related work as required.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of related work experience.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
