Position Summary
Maintenance Supervisor II is responsible for the daily safe and efficient operation of the maintenance staff including mechanics, welders, electricians, and machinists. Works closely with the planning department to organize repairs, order parts, and schedule and assign work. Will assist in the inspection of mining facilities and equipment to determine problems and necessary maintenance required.

Work in a safe manner at all times and be aware of environmental responsibilities both in an office and maintenance setting. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
Typical Working Conditions
Normal office or shop environment and field work in typical weather.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate and monitor routine maintenance of all mining equipment.
- Coordinate activities for the maintenance crews; provide training as needed.
- Coordinate the availability of parts for maintenance projects.
- Communicate and work co-operatively with operations to ensure equipment is being maintained while maximizing production.
- Identify and balance resource demands on workgroup; approve timecards.
- Communicate performance expectations to crew members and address any performance issues that can be improved.
- Ensure employees are in compliance with all company policies/procedures and safety regulations.
- Conduct weekly toolbox meetings and perform shop inspections at the beginning of each shift.
- Perform related work as required.

Education and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience in the mining industry.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Licenses, Registration, and Certifications
- Must be willing and able to obtain Mining Supervisor Certificate.
- Trades Certificate preferred.
