The Rawhide Mining District was originally discovered in 1906 during Nevada’s historic gold and silver rush and quickly became one of the state’s well-known mining camps. Modern mining operations later revitalized the district through open-pit heap leach processing methods, producing significant gold and silver ounces over several decades. The mine has historically been operated by major mining groups including Kennecott and Rawhide Mining LLC and remains a fully permitted mining operation with a strong legacy in Nevada mining.
