POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator, the Mine Planner - Longhole will be responsible for producing short and medium term mine designs and development schedules, tracking mining progress and for producing development layouts, long-hole drill sections and long-hole blast designs to meet production requirements at the Bradshaw Mine.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator, the Mine Planner - Longhole will be responsible for producing short and medium term mine designs and development schedules, tracking mining progress and for producing development layouts, long-hole drill sections and long-hole blast designs to meet production requirements at the Bradshaw Mine.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide plans and design layouts to ensure production requirements are met as per budget and that engineering standards are met as per design documents.
- Produce mine layouts and plans for short range forecasts.
- Participate in, and support, future design work for the Bradshaw Mine.
- Ensure that geological and survey data are updated prior to creating drill layouts.
- Stay current of activities within respective headings and remain abreast of production, development, and drilling rates to accurately schedule and prioritize required work.
- Monitor mine performance in accordance with production and development plans.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports for mine plan vs actual performance.
- Design and produce long-hole drilling and blast layouts as per standards. Select and justify proper drill patterns and blast timing with appropriate blasting products supplied.
- Tabulate and report on total long-hole drill footage and tons blasted, as required.
- Complete reconciliation of longhole stopes upon completion, reviewing drill pattern, designed versus actual tonnage, and cross-sections of stope showing design and actual shapes.
- Work jointly with Underground Supervisors to develop daily and weekly plans. Document all delays experienced against the plan and KPIs.
- Facilitate meetings with longhole drillers when performing remote drilling or non-routine hazardous tasks.
- Ensure that all plans are approved before issuing them to the underground workforce.
- Work with the Underground Department to ensure that development and production forecasts reflect a balanced manpower and equipment schedule.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Promote and ensure compliance to the Gowest's Safety, Environmental and Health Programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Recognized Mining Engineering Degree or Mining Engineering Technologist/Technician Diploma.
- 2 to 5 years related mining engineer experience working in underground mining environment in long hole planning would be ideal for this position.
- Experience in mine planning and scheduling for underground operations.
- Experience with 3D mining software including Deswik or equivalent, and other Microsoft Office software packages.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work are key requirements.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- The role is located at the Bradshaw Gold Project, which is approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, Canada.
- The ideal candidate for the role will work a schedule of 4 days on and 3 off, 10-hour days.
- Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
