Your key responsibilities will include:
- Independently prepare pit phase designs and short-term mine plans.
- Integrate short-term plans into long-term LOM plans to avoid bottlenecks.
- Analyze and interpret short-term plans to ensure alignment with operational objectives.
- Prepare monthly and weekly plans by coordinating activities and adjusting approaches as needed.
- Supervise daily survey work, drilling, and blasting to prioritize planning goals.
- Monitor and control mining activities, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare annual budgets and long-term plans with construction and operational schedules.
- Respond to internal and external requests; keep up-to-date with trends and technologies in mine design.
- Research and recommend process, technology, or methodology improvements.
- Prepare technical manuals, reports, and communication materials.
- Contribute to development of engineering policies and practices.
- Design drill patterns based on operational parameters.
- Conduct equipment studies to verify production targets.
- Ensure pit designs are correctly implemented in the field.
- Coordinate production surveying.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification or licensure in geology or mine surveying is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mining planning, preferably long-term planning.
- Experience with geological modeling, production planning, and resource optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
- Understanding of geostatistical methods and orebody modeling.
- Willingness to work in Brokopondo and Paramaribo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break
- A copy ID & a valid proof of good conduct "Bewijs goedgedrag".
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in English.
