Barrick is looking for an Engineering Superintendent - Tailings (Naranjo & El Llagal) to join our Projects team. This role is responsible for leading the engineering activities for the Naranjo and El Llagal Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and associated infrastructure. The role oversees engineering studies, design development, and the execution of capital and sustaining projects to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the TSFs. The position manages engineering consultants, coordinates technical activities with Operations, Capital Projects, the Engineer of Record (EOR), and other stakeholders, and ensures that engineering deliverables meet corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and project objectives. The Superintendent provides engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and handover to Operations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering activities for the design and development of the Naranjo and El Llagal Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) and associated infrastructure.
  
• Coordinate engineering studies and review design reports, drawings, specifications, and technical recommendations prepared by the Engineer of Record (EOR) and engineering consultants.
  
• Support the optimization of embankment raises, water management systems, seepage control, and other TSF infrastructure.
  
• Provide engineering support during the construction of TSF raises and related infrastructure.
  
• Coordinate engineering activities with Operations, Projects, and Construction teams.
  
• Review engineering changes, RFIs, and design modifications during construction.
  
• Manage engineering consultants and coordinate the delivery of civil, geotechnical, hydrological, hydrogeological, and related engineering studies.
  
• Review consultant deliverables to ensure technical quality, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Mining Engineering.
  
• Professional Engineer designation preferred.
  
• 6+ years of experience in mine waste or tailings engineering.
  
• Demonstrated experience in:
  
  • TSF design
    
  • Embankment raises
    
  • Water management
    
  • Construction support
    
  • Consultant management
    
  • Geotechnical investigations
    
• Experience working with Engineers of Record.
  
• Working knowledge of GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA or ICOLD guidelines
