New Porgera Limited, a leading name in the mining industry, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Scaffolder to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient setup and dismantling of scaffolding structures within our mining site.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences :
This is a PNG National Award position, a site-based role on a Walk in Walk out arrangement with rotation of 20 days on and 8 days off. Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage) and have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Must a be Local Porgeran (Cat 1A - SML, Cat 1B -LMP or Cat 2 - Other Porgera) candidate and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.

New Porgera Limited, a leading name in the mining industry, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Scaffolder to join our Fixed Plant Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient setup and dismantling of scaffolding structures within our mining site.
In this role, you will:
- Safely and efficiently set up and dismantle scaffolding structures according to project requirements.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on scaffolding equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance and construction teams to plan and execute scaffolding activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations during scaffolding operations.
- Reporting to the Supervisor immediately any actual or potential unsafe conditions or activities, mishaps, incidents, accidents, injuries or illnesses in the work place.
- Assisting new employees in the application of the proper work procedures and practices.
- Using personal protective clothing or equipment as provided.
- Reporting any defective or damaged personal protective clothing, equipment, or gear, and returning the item to the Supervisor for replacement or repair.
- Complying with instructions given pertaining to the use of personal protective clothing, equipment or gear or any matter in relation to health and safety
- Not interfering with anything that has been provided in the interest of health and safety in the workplace.
- Not engaging in any duties that require a certificate or written authorization unless the relevant certificate or permit is held.
- Not attempting any task unless they are trained, capable and competent to safely perform the task.
- Cooperating fully with any rehabilitation program to assist recovery from injury or illness for themselves or any other person.
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences :
- SA - Advanced Scaffold certificate
- Proven experience in building complex and hanging scaffolds, preferably in a mining or heavy equipment environment.
- Strong understanding of scaffolding techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to work at heights/Work at heights qualification
- Confined space qualification
- Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals and specifications.
- Safety hazard awareness in JHA or JSA, Zero Tasol, Take 5, FLRA, Risk Assessments
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
