Charge Up Operator | Dugald River Project | 2:2 FIFO Roster

Redpath is one of the world's leading underground mining contractors, delivering safe, innovative and productive mining solutions across the globe. We are currently seeking experienced Charge Up Operators to join our high-performing team at the Dugald River Project near Cloncurry, Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a long-term underground mining operation while enjoying an excellent 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off FIFO roster that supports a genuine work-life balance.

About the Role

The Charge Up Operator is responsible for the assembly, positioning and detonation of explosives within the underground mining environment. Working as part of a high-performing production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient charging activities while maintaining Redpath's commitment to Safety - First, Last and Always.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely charge development headings, undertake stope preparation, charging and ring hook-up activities in accordance with mine plans and blast designs.
  • Interpret plans, record explosive usage and maintain accurate blasting documentation.
  • Identify and remedy misfires, conduct thorough re-entries and ensure all blasting activities are completed safely and effectively.
  • Ensure the safe handling, transportation, storage and security of explosives in accordance with legislative and site requirements.
  • Complete pre-start inspections, workplace risk assessments, TTTCs and THAs, and report incidents, hazards, accidents and near misses.
  • Attend and actively contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings and shift handovers.
  • Maintain compliance with Redpath and client procedures while ensuring materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner.


Qualifications

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Queensland Blaster's Licence.
  • A valid Manual Driver's Licence and current First Aid & CPR qualifications.
  • Current Working at Heights, Dogging and High Risk Vehicle Loading Crane (Class CV) certifications.
  • Experience operating underground mobile mining equipment, with the flexibility to operate additional plant as required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions, complete documentation and work effectively within a team environment.
