You will be responsible for coordinating personnel, equipment, and work activities while fostering a positive safety culture and maintaining strong communication across the project team
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise underground crews to achieve production and development targets safely and efficiently.
- Plan and coordinate daily shift activities in consultation with Project Management, Superintendents, Safety Advisors, and Maintenance teams.
- Allocate personnel, equipment, and work areas to maximise productivity.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with mine plans, SWIs, site procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, shift handovers, and safety meetings.
- Complete accurate shift reports, inspections, and timesheets.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through workplace inspections, Take 5s, JSAs, and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents, hazards, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Support and mentor team members, providing leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with Redpath and client management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the workforce.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and environmental performance across all work areas.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous experience in a Shift Supervisor or senior underground mining leadership position.
- Extensive underground mining experience.
- Strong understanding of underground mining operations, safety systems, and statutory requirements.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Experience coordinating crews, equipment, and daily production activities.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to effectively manage safety, quality, and operational performance.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Relevant underground mining qualifications and certifications.
