Reporting to the Capital Projects Engineering Manager the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer is responsible for design and overseeing the planning, execution, and commissioning of electrical and controls engineering projects.

This role requires technical expertise in the design of low and high voltage electrical power systems, and instrumentation and controls engineering.

In addition to a specialist electrical and controls engineering skillset, the applicant needs to possess a multi-disciplinary understanding of process plant design and mine site infrastructure.

The role requires the individual to take professional accountability for the delivery of engineered systems from concept through to operation.

  • Contribute to the detailed design and provide engineering solutions for site-wide infrastructure including process plant, water management, camp, and power systems. Oversee and manage the work of EPCM service providers, as well as take professional responsibility for in-house engineering.
  • Oversee the design of electrical reticulation systems including HV (230 kV / 25 kV substation and distribution), and LV distribution networks.
  • Conduct and/or oversee electrical/automation Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.

Qualifications

  • BSc Electrical Engineering
  • 5-10 years minimum experience
