Situated 10 kilometers west of Kamloops, British Columbia, the New Afton mine is an underground gold and copper producing site.
Kamloops is a city of 105,000 people, located 350 kilometers east of Vancouver. Compensation
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $60,000 to $70,000. A comprehensive benefits program and performance bonus plan will also be provided. This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, review and verify invoices and check requests.
- Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.
- Set invoices up for payment;
- Enter and upload invoices into system;
- Track taxable benefit expenses and process expense reports;
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments;
- Prepare and perform check runs;
- Filing invoices once they have been processed;
- Prepare analysis of accounts;
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date;
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues;
- Support the Finance Team by addressing inquiries, pulling data, etc.;
- Maintain vendor files;
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries;
- Maintain accurate historical records;
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date;
- Vendor statement reviews, reducing repeating invoices month over month;
- Other assignments as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will be:
- Qualified candidates will have completed high school or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in Accounts Payable or Business degree with minimum 1-year experience in Accounts Payable (Co-op experience considered)
- An ambitious team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Experience in making assessments for Provincial Sales Tax
- Accounting diploma or degree considered an asset
- Experience in SAP or other enterprise accounting system an asset
- Experience in reconciling general ledger accounts an asset
Other Requirements
Candidates will be required to participate in a comprehensive qualification process, including:
- Successful completion of pre-placement functional screen
- Provide proof of a valid Class 5 driver's license
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada
- Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements
