The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Recruiter (18-month fixed term) to join our People & Community team in St. John's, NL.
The fixed-term position will be working a Monday to Friday schedule, based in St. John's with travel to Long Harbour and Voisey's Bay on an as-needed basis.
Through strategic partnerships with Hiring Managers and in accordance with company policies and legislation, the Recruiter is responsible for managing the complete recruitment cycle - from the sourcing of candidates through to the onboarding of the successful applicant. The Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.

- Build strong partnerships with Hiring Managers and HRBPs to understand talent needs, provide recruitment expertise, and deliver exceptional hiring outcomes
- Advise and coach Hiring Managers on recruitment best practices and ethics
- Source and attract candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and talent pipelines
- Screen and assess candidates through resume reviews, interviews, and qualification evaluations
- Manage the interview process by coordinating interviews and facilitating feedback.
- Present and negotiate job offers to secure top talent
- Act as a trusted representative for Vale Base Metals by building relationships with prospective candidates and external stakeholders
- Support and enhance our employer branding efforts through the planning and execution of recruitment events
- Represent Vale Base Metals at career fairs, industry events, recruitment initiatives, and community engagement opportunities

About You
Education:
- A post-secondary education in Business and/or Human Resources is required for this role
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Talent Acquisition in a fast-paced, and dynamic organization
- Experience working with applicant tracking systems and other Human Resources Management software
- Experience working in the mining or heavy industry would be considered an asset
Skills
- Excellent, client-focused verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trusted partnerships with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders
- Strong influencing and persuasion skills, with the ability to engage candidates, build stakeholder trust, and drive successful hiring outcomes
- Strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office, ATS, Sourcing platforms)
